Quarantine Fumigation of Wood and Timber

Cover fumigation is a service where the product or item is covered with a gas‑proof fumigation tarp, with sand snakes placed around all edges to achieve and maintain a secure gas seal. (Alternatively, the product may be covered with an airtight tarpaulin sheet to ensure the optimum concentration of methyl bromide gas, effectively eradicating pests.) The items are treated with the fumigant under gas‑proof sheeting for a minimum required period before being properly ventilated.

Container Fumigation

Container fumigation is an effective method for controlling a wide range of pests through a safe, efficient, and dry disinfection process, typically carried out using gas. The most commonly used fumigants are methyl bromide and phosphine.

For optimal results, the container must be structurally sound and in good condition to properly contain the fumigant and ensure effective pest eradication.

Vessel Fumigation

We provide professional fumigation for vessels to eliminate pests, especially rats, in compliance with legal requirements. Before treatment, risk areas are vacated and openings sealed to ensure the fumigant (methyl bromide) remains contained for maximum effectiveness.

ISPM-15 Certification

Good packaging materials bearing the ISPM‑15 stamp are certified as compliant with international regulations. Misarma provides this service following Regulation 15 of the International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM‑15), developed by the IPPC to treat wood over 6 mm thick used in global shipping. This helps prevent the spread of pests and diseases that could harm plants and ecosystems.
